As part of my graduate degree, I reported from the Medill newsroom in downtown Chicago from April to June 2009. My area of coverage was science outreach and education, which meant I spent my twelve week stint covering Chicago’s science institutions, including the Chicago Public Schools, Shedd Aquarium and Science Chicago. Reporting in the health & science newsroom focused on multimedia coverage, and I used the opportunity to develop my Flash, video editing and photography skills.
